Dee Davis

Dee Davis will serve as the Assistant Coach for 16 APEX this season, bringing extensive NCAA Division I coaching experience, elite playing credentials, and a passion for developing the complete athlete to Arizona Legacy. A 2026 AVCA Thirty Under 30 honoree, Dee has built a career centered on helping athletes maximize their performance both physically and mentally while creating environments where confidence, leadership, and accountability thrive.

A former four-year starter at the University of Illinois, Dee competed at one of the nation's premier volleyball programs before transitioning into coaching. Throughout her coaching career, she has served on the staffs at Arizona State University, Stanford University, Santa Clara University, Ohio University, Davidson College, and most recently as the Associate Head Coach and Mental Performance Coach at UC Davis. During her time at Arizona State, she was part of JJ Van Niel's coaching staff that advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16, helping develop athletes competing at the highest level of collegiate volleyball.

Beyond technical instruction, Dee is the founder of Davis Empowerment, where she works with athletes and coaches to develop confidence, leadership, communication, and mental performance. Her approach focuses on helping athletes build the habits, resilience, and mindset needed to perform consistently under pressure while developing into confident leaders both on and off the court.

Throughout her career, Dee has been recognized for her ability to connect with athletes while maintaining high expectations and creating environments built on trust, accountability, and continual growth. Whether working with elite collegiate athletes or youth players beginning their volleyball journey, she believes every athlete deserves a coach who invests in both their performance and their personal development.

Dee is excited to bring her experience, energy, and leadership to 16 APEX as Arizona Legacy continues building one of the nation's premier boys volleyball programs. Her goal is to help every athlete leave the program more confident, mentally resilient, and prepared to succeed in volleyball and in life.
