Assistant Coach | 17 APEX

Amy Muresan will serve as the Assistant Coach for 17 APEX this season, bringing more than a decade of club and high school coaching experience to Arizona Legacy. An Arizona native, Amy has dedicated her life to the game of volleyball, first as a player and now as a coach, earning a reputation for developing technically sound athletes and building competitive, team-first cultures.

Amy was a two-time 5A Arizona State Champion at Horizon High School in 2009 and 2010, where she also earned All-Team Honorable Mention honors and was recognized as a Scholar Athlete. She continued her education at Whittier College, graduating Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition Science, before earning her Arizona teaching certification. Her background in education and human performance has helped shape her teaching style, emphasizing fundamentals, movement efficiency, and long-term athlete development.

Over the past decade, Amy has coached at Shadow Mountain High School, Notre Dame Prep, and Sandra Day O'Connor High School, contributing to multiple championship programs, including an AIA 4A State Championshipat Notre Dame Prep and an AIA 6A State Championship at Sandra Day O'Connor. At the club level, she has coached athletes across multiple age groups, earning five USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship bids while leading teams to top finishes at premier events including Red Rock Rave, Colorado Crossroads, Triple Crown, Salt Lake City Showdown, and USA Volleyball Nationals.

Known for her energy, attention to detail, and passion for athlete development, Amy believes great coaching extends beyond wins and losses. She strives to create an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and encouraged to compete with confidence while developing the discipline, leadership, and work ethic that will serve them long after volleyball. She is excited to bring her experience and passion for teaching to the 17 APEX coaching staff as Arizona Legacy continues building one of the nation's premier boys volleyball programs.
