Legacy Lab is Arizona Legacy’s spring program for boys in 5th–8th grade and for 14U athletes who did not make a high school team. In Arizona, high school boys play for their schools in the spring, so older athletes pause club. Legacy Lab keeps younger and developing players training and competing during that time.
If your athlete is 14 or under (eighth grade or below), Legacy Lab provides structured practices, coaching, and local competition without the complexity of travel. The focus is on learning the game the right way—fundamentals, team systems, decision-making, and confidence.
Legacy Lab runs from late January to early April and includes four local tournaments organized by the Arizona Region of USA Volleyball. The current schedule is Feb 25, Mar 14, Apr 11, and Apr 18 (dates may change). All events are here in the Phoenix Valley; there is no out-of-state travel.
Teams practice two evenings per week—either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. A typical training night runs from 5:00–7:00 PM on-court, followed by 7:00–8:00 PM with Elite U. Over the season, athletes complete roughly 16 practices. This consistent rhythm helps players improve steadily while keeping schedules manageable. Practice times will be decided following placement day.
Before teams are formed, we host All-Skills Clinics so coaches can get to know each athlete’s current skill level and progress. Placement Day operates like a tryout with one key difference: our intent is not to make cuts. We work to place every athlete so they have a full development opportunity. Athletes rotate through skill stations and live play; coaches use that information to create balanced rosters of about 10–12 players.
Current Arizona Legacy athletes who meet 14U age/grade guidelines are eligible. Athletes from other clubs may attend Placement Day if they are not under contract for Nationals with another club. If they are rostered elsewhere, a written release from their home club is required before joining Legacy’s spring program. Policies can vary within the Arizona Region, so families are responsible for securing any needed releases ahead of Placement Day.
Everything happens under one roof, with experienced coaches and a proven training model. Athletes get meaningful reps, age-appropriate strength and speed work, and the right level of competition so they can keep improving and step confidently into future club or high school seasons.

All training is held at AZ Hype, our official practice site. Strength and movement training with Elite U is built into the program and happens in the same facility, so families don’t have to juggle multiple locations.

At Arizona Legacy, we’re not just running a club. We’re building a program where athletes show up, put in the work, and grow into competitors.
We know the cost of club volleyball is a real commitment. And like everything else lately, prices across the board have gone up. We’ve done our part to keep things as affordable as possible without cutting corners on quality. What you’ll see below is what it costs to be part of this program and what that investment actually gets you.
No gimmicks. No hidden fees. Just a complete, all-in experience for athletes who want to compete and families who want to be part of something built to last.

The Arizona Region has gone fully digital. In past seasons, families had to bring concussion forms, and other documents directly to their clubs. Beginning this boys season, families will no longer be required to turn these forms in to clubs. All necessary forms are now included as part of your AZ Region USA Volleyball membership registration and will be completed when you purchase your membership.
Families should complete their USA Volleyball membership prior to placement day and bring in a completed AZ Region Medical Release Form.
Please note that families still need to turn in a copy of their athlete’s birth certificate at check-in for age verification.
